Expedition Overview
Journey to Chiraggala, the highest point of the historic Gilgilchay defense wall. Built in the 4th-6th centuries to protect the Great Silk Road, this fortress stands on a steep 120-meter rock face. Known as part of the "Abzud-Kavad" (Long Walls), it is a rare gem of Sasanian architecture. Our circular hike starts from Galaalti village, traversing lush forests to reach the castle and returning via a scenic backroute.
